Kohli-Sharma achieves new record

The Indian Cricket Team remains consistent as they won their second ODI against the West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain in Trinidad. In the match, there are records shattered by some of the players in the Men in Blue.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remains as the iconic duo in the Indian cricket team in spite of the rumors of a rift between them. They scored 74 runs for the second wicket after the team lost Shikhar Dhawan.

India was opted to bat first. The match had a shaky start as Shikhar Dhawan was out, he only scored 2 off three balls. Kohli bat at no.3 alongside Rohit. The latter scored 18 off 34 balls while the team leader hit his 42nd century in ODI.

Kohli’s record overtook Sourav Ganguly’s record and Javed Miandad’s 26-year-old record. He is now the second-highest run-scorer in ODI.

The 50-run partnership between Kohli and Rohit in One Day Internationals format surpassed the record of the legendary pair Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag who have 31 50-run stands. They are now ranked second in the most 50+ partnerships by a pair in ODIs.

Kohli and Rohit has a combined total of 4729 runs in ODIs. They are only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly who holds a record of 8227 runs as a pair. The duo also continues to set records individually. Fans are looking forward for another Kohli-Rohit partnership to erase the rift issue that plagued them in the past.
